Why minimal invasive?
Image guided procedures were introduced in clinical practice in the early 80’s by Interventional Radiologist and since then are offering minimal invasive solutions for patients that do not choose or cannot undergo surgery.
The evolution of imaging with the use of Digital Subtraction Angiography, Computed Tomography, Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging combined with the technological advances of clever devices and navigation tools offer a number of solutions for benign and malignant conditions.
Usually patients undergo their procedures and are in position to leave the hospital either the same or the next day. The reduced hospital stay combined with the pin-hole approach make image guided procedures a very precious tool of modern medicine.
